Laurie has been writing stories since she was a ten year old Iowa schoolgirl. When she reached high school, she combined her love of writing with a new found love of acting. She wrote and performed her first (but certainly not her last) Biblical monologue at her father’s Presbyterian church. Moving from the Midwest to the Southwest Laurie brought her love of Biblical drama with her. She has been involved in drama ministry since high school. For ten years she headed the drama ministry in a Nevada church directing, writing and acting in the worship sketches; as well as writing and directing seasonal dramas.

She continued to hone her skills by taking college drama classes and performing in community theatre productions in roles such as the Evil Stepmother in Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.  But her true passion has always been with using her monologues to bring Biblical women to life. She has performed her monologues in Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, Nevada and Arizona.
