Laurie has been writing stories since she was a ten-year-old Iowa schoolgirl. When she reached high school, she combined her love of writing with a newfound love of acting. She wrote and performed her first (but certainly not her last) Biblical monologue at her father’s Presbyterian church.

Moving from the Midwest to the Southwest Laurie brought her love of Biblical drama with her. For ten years she headed the drama ministry in a Nevada church directing, writing, and acting in the worship sketches; as well as writing and directing seasonal dramas.

She continued to hone her skills by taking college drama classes and performing in community theatre productions in roles such as the Evil Stepmother in Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella. But her true passion has always been using her monologues to bring Biblical women to life. She has performed her monologues in Iowa, South Dakota, Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona.

Laurie’s heart and skill bring the Bible to life in a way that changes us.
